Summary:
The Network Consultant will be responsible for providing expert guidance and support in the design, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure for our organization. This role requires a strong understanding of network technologies and protocols, as well as the ability to analyze complex network issues and provide effective solutions. The Network Consultant will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the network infrastructure is secure, efficient, and aligned with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and implement robust network solutions, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks, based on business requirements and industry best practices.
2. Perform network capacity planning, monitoring, and optimization to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
3. Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, collaborating with team members and vendors as required.
4. Conduct regular network assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities, recommend improvements, and ensure compliance with security standards.
5. Provide technical expertise and guidance to IT teams and stakeholders on network-related matters.
6. Collaborate with vendors and service providers to evaluate, select, and procure network equipment, software, and services.
7. Develop and maintain network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
8. Stay up-to-date with emerging network technologies and trends, evaluating their potential impact and making recommendations for adoption.
9. Participate in the planning and execution of network-related projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project objectives.
10. Contribute to the development and enforcement of network-related policies, procedures, and standards.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
2. Minimum of [X] years of experience as a Network Consultant or in a similar role.
3. In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VPN, firewalls, and related network protocols and technologies.
4. Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco networking equipment (routers, switches, firewalls).
5. Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices.
6. Ability to analyze complex network problems and implement effective solutions.
7. Experience with network monitoring and management tools.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
9. Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
10. Relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco Certified Network Professional - CCNP) are highly desirable.
